I'm stealing a good blogging idea from my friend Chris used to categorize experiences abroad. I never did know how to express the interesting happenings of cultural misunderstanding, miscommunication, wonder, bafflement, confusion, and delight. Things will be listed under "things I like," "things I hate," and "things I don't understand".
Things I don't understand:
It's not uncommon to see folks here picking their noses...I mean really digging in there, in public nonetheless...even on dates! My students do it sometimes randomly during a spelling test or while they're raising their hands yelling "teacher! I know! teacher!" Yet I've gotten nasty looks when I don't cover my mouth when yawning in public.

Enjoy your cultural revelations as I'm starting to organize them all in my head and get them written down better.
